4. Images

Here you can adjust the images of the website and their associated settings. The selection fields under this category determine how the product, category and brand images are displayed. When one of these is checked, the image is filled so that no white borders are rendered on the sides of the image.

The optimal dimensions for images in the Unity Theme are:

4.1 Slider

For the top image, you can choose between 3 variants. The dimensions differ, based on the image type. We recommend you to use the following dimensions, according to the variant you’ve chosen.
Customer service slider (at least 1020x420px)

Headlines are images that together form a slider that appears on your homepage.

Navigate to Design > Headlines by the left hand menu in the backend to add a slider. Headlines are ideal to show (temporary) actions. Note: that this must be set per language.
1. ClickAdd headline at the top right of the screen to add a new headline. If you add multiple headlines/images, then they’ll form a slideshow together.
2. A new window opens in which you can enter the title of the headline and select the language.
3. After creating the headline, you are immediately forwarded to the edit page.
  - Title -Name of the headline. Depending on your theme, this text may also appear on the headline. You already filled this in when creating the headline.
  - Language - Select the language for which this headline will be displayed. The languages in the drop-down menu are the same languages that have been added under Settings > SHOP SETTINGS > Internationalization. Do you want the same headline for all languages of your shop? Then you must recreate the headline for each language.
  - Link to - You can also link the headline to a category, brand, product or an external link. For Type, select the option to which you want to link the headline. In the second drop-down menu you can select the page to which the headline should redirect your users. For example, if you’ve chosen Product as type, then you should select the product to which the headline should link in the second drop-down menu. If you select Custom in the drop-down menu, you can also refer to an external website.
  - Image - ClickBrowse to upload the file. You can delete the image by clicking on the image and then clicking Delete at the bottom left of the pop-up windowr
The order of the headlines can be adjusted by clicking on the three-dash icon to the left of the headline and dragging the image up or down.

Each headline image is compressed. This compression is a sort of system limit to prevent system performance from suffering. If this wouldn’t be so, then your web store would load a lot slower.
4.2 Product images
at least 650px wide as required by the product page. The height may vary, but in order to achieve the best results, we recommend you to use one size for all product images. If the uploaded size is different, white edges will appear, which can thus be solved by selecting the appropriate image.
4.3 Category images
660x386px as required by the collection page. If the uploaded dimensions are different, white edges will appear, which can thus be solved by selecting the appropriate image.
4.4 Brand images
660x386px as required by the collection page. If the uploaded dimensions are different, white edges will appear, which can thus be solved by selecting the appropriate image.
4.5 Product image dimensions
Here you can indicate whether you’ve uploaded a portrait or landscape photo.
- Square
  minimum 650x650px.
- Portrait
  minimum 650x750px.
4.6 Producten row
Here you can indicate whether you want to display many products next to each other or if you want to display everything slightly larger and have less products in one row.
- Disabled
  homepage: 4 products and collection page 3 products in 1 row.
- Enabled
  homepage: 5 products and collection page 4 products in 1 row.
